Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 5 November 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Iwona Bak ("we", "us") about your use of My First Reading Adventure, a reading practice app for children aged 5–6.
1. Accepting these terms
By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using it.
2. What we provide
My First Reading Adventure offers graded reading lessons, printable activities, progress tracking and AI-assisted practice helpers for parents. Lessons 1–5 are free; the full library requires a subscription. A subscription gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for your own family — it is not a resale or redistribution right.
3. Your account and information
You must be an adult, or the parent or guardian of the child using the app. Keep your sign-in details private and tell us straight away if someone else uses them. You are responsible for activity under your account. Please give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
4. Payments and subscription
Subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically until you cancel. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are handled by our reseller — see Paddle's Buyer Terms.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
5. Keeping the app safe — no misuse
You agree not to misuse the app. That includes:
- using it for anything unlawful, or to harm others;
- fraud, spam, or fake accounts;
- copying, infringing or removing our intellectual property;
- interfering with its security — spreading malware, probing for weaknesses, scraping content, or bypassing lesson or subscription limits;
- reverse engineering the app or reselling access to it.
6. AI helpers — what to expect
Some parent and child tools are generated by a language model. Please read this section before using them.
- Acceptable use only. Do not use the AI helpers to produce unlawful material, hate speech, sexual or violent content involving children, deepfakes, malware, or to try to trick the model into ignoring these rules.
- You are responsible for what you ask for and what you do with the answer. Check suggestions against your own judgement and your child's teacher before acting on them. Only submit material you have the right to share.
- Accuracy. AI answers can be wrong, out of date, or unsuitable for a particular child. They are educational support, not diagnosis, and not a substitute for advice from a teacher, doctor, or other qualified professional.
- Your content and ours. You keep the rights to what you type in. We ask only for the permission we need to generate and show you the result. If you believe output infringes your rights, contact us and we will act on valid complaints and may restrict repeated infringers.
- Moderation. We may refuse, filter, remove or restrict content and outputs, and suspend accounts that break these rules.
7. Who owns the app
The app, its lessons, artwork, characters and branding belong to Iwona Bak. Nothing in these terms transfers that ownership to you.
8. No guarantee of uninterrupted service
We work hard to keep the app running, but we cannot promise it will be available at all times or free of errors. Children's progress is stored on the device they read on, so please do not rely on the app as the only record of their work.
9. Suspension and ending access
We may suspend or end your access if you materially break these terms, do not pay, create a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously violate our policies. Where we can, we will tell you why. On ending, your saved progress stays on your device and you may export it; we delete account data in line with our Privacy Notice.
10. Warranties and liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is" with no implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special losses such as lost profits, data or goodwill, and our total liability for anything is capped at the fees you paid us in the previous 12 months. Nothing here limits liability we cannot lawfully limit, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
11. Your responsibility if something goes wrong
You agree to cover claims that come from your content, your unlawful use, or your breaking these terms.
12. Other terms
We may update these terms and will note the date at the top of this page. We may transfer this agreement as part of a business sale; you may not transfer it without our consent. If a court finds one clause unenforceable, the rest still stand. Serious events outside our reasonable control (outages, natural events, strikes) excuse us from performance for as long as they last. These terms are governed by the law of the seller's country, and the courts of that country will settle any dispute.
